    A process you can trust

The SneakPeek gender kit is based entirely on science

SneakPeek is the only at-home fetal sex test that conducts robust studies through independent clinics. We currently have 9 published studies in scientific journals.

SneakPeek kit is a DNA-based test. It looks for male chromosomes in the fetal DNA in mom’s blood.

If they’re present, the baby is a boy. If none are found, it’s a girl. Our gender test is over 99% accurate1 at 6 weeks into your pregnancy.

    Top gender FAQs

Find answers to any questions you may have

    • How reliable is the gender prediction blood test?
You'll be pleased to know that the gender prediction blood test boasts a high degree of accuracy, especially when the guidelines for sample collection are adhered to meticulously. With advances in noninvasive prenatal testing, the reliability of such tests has significantly improved, providing results that many expecting parents can trust.
    • Is the gender prediction blood test safe?
The gender prediction blood test is a noninvasive method of predicting a baby's gender, posing minimal to no risk to both the mother and the fetus. This safety profile, combined with its high accuracy, makes it a preferred choice for many parents-to-be who seek early insights into their baby's gender without undergoing invasive procedures.
    • How early can the gender prediction blood test be taken?
Our gender prediction blood test can be taken as early as six weeks into pregnancy—months before an ultrasound. Not sure if you're 6 weeks along? Use our Test Eligibility Calculator to check. You can also order ahead with confidence—our test kit is good for a year and comes with 30-day no-hassle returns.
    • Does a previous miscarriage affect my pregnancy test results?
Research indicates that fetal DNA is quickly eliminated from a mother's bloodstream, typically within 1-2 days. As a result, a previous miscarriage would not impact the results of your present test.
    • Can I buy the test and use it later?
Yes, you can! Moms have to be at least 6 weeks into pregnancy to use the SneakPeek® Gender test. But the Snap kit is good for 12 months, while the lancet lasts for 6 months.
    • How is the DNA blood sample taken?
The SneakPeek Gender Test® analyzes fetal DNA in the mother’s bloodstream to detect male chromosomes. A small blood sample is collected using either the SneakPeek Snap (a virtually painless microneedle device) or the Lancet kit (which includes three finger-prick lancets). After collection, simply mail your sample to our Labs, where it is processed for over 99% accurate results. For those choosing SneakPeek Clinical, a professional will draw your blood for the early gender test at a nearby ultrasound office or assist with the Snap method before securely sending your sample to the lab for processing.
    • How do I ensure an accurate test result?
To keep your blood sample free of male DNA contamination:
Lancet kit: 1) sanitize a flat surface, 2) wash hands and under all fingernails, and air dry.
Snap kit: 1) wash hands and air dry, 2) clean a spot on the upper arm with provided brush.
    • How are my results given to me?
SneakPeek test results are delivered via email to the "results email address" you provided at kit activation. Your results email will be sent from [email protected] with the subject line "Your SneakPeek Result Is In!" With FastTrack, your sample is prioritized at the lab, and you'll receive the results the same day we receive your sample. With Standard, you'll typically get the result the day after we receive your sample. Be sure to check all your folders, including Promotions and Junk Mail, in case your email filter redirects it, or use your email search toolbar to search for "SneakPeek."
    • What should I do if my blood test result differs from my ultrasound?
While the gender prediction blood test is designed for high accuracy, discrepancies can occasionally arise. If the blood test result differs from an ultrasound, it's recommended to consult with a healthcare provider. They can offer insights and may suggest further tests or checks to confirm the gender, ensuring peace of mind for expecting parents.
