Foresight® Carrier Screen

What if you could know more about your baby?

Now that you know the predicted sex of your baby, it may be a good time to consider learning more about your baby’s health. Just like other steps you take to protect your baby, genetic screens for inherited conditions are recommended by medical experts for every parent-to-be. The Foresight Carrier Screen helps you learn if you are at risk of passing on a heritable condition to your baby, giving you time to pursue next steps.

What is the Foresight Carrier Screen?

The Foresight screen analyzes your genes and, if appropriate, your reproductive partner’s genes to determine if you are at risk of passing on a hereditary condition to your baby. For the overwhelming majority of patients, the risk is low. For some parents, the screen may reveal if they are a carrier of a condition, like cystic fibrosis or spinal muscular atrophy, even when they may not be aware of any family history. If both parents are carriers of the same condition, they have a 25% chance of passing on the condition to their baby. The results of the Foresight screen can help you and your healthcare provider decide whether any additional steps, such as diagnostic testing, are recommended.

Available to any parent regardless of age, ancestry, BMI or ability to pay.

The test is a simple saliva sample taken in the convenience of your home.

Includes access to board-certified genetic counselors if you have questions before or after the test.

Does it matter which prenatal screens I ask for?

Actually, it does! Not all screens give you the same high level of reliability as those through Myriad Genetics. When you ask for the Foresight screen by name, you know your results are backed up by our unmatched 30+ years of genetic expertise.
