How does the SneakPeek Early Gender Test work?
The SneakPeek test works by detecting male chromosomes in a small blood sample from the pregnant parent. If Y chromosomes are found, the baby is a boy; if not, the baby is a girl. You collect your sample at home or at a SneakPeek Clinical location; then it goes to the SneakPeek lab. Results are over 99% accurate¹ and are delivered within days.

¹ In a large-scale published study run in 2020, SneakPeek accurately determined fetal sex in 99.9% of 1,029 pregnant women between 7-37 weeks gestational age. In a 2021 laboratory test, SneakPeek accurately determined fetal sex in 99.02% of 102 pregnant women using the Snap device at 8-15 weeks gestational age. In a separate published study run in 2021, fetal sex was accurately determined in 100% of 134 pregnant women at 7 weeks gestational age. How do I know when I can take the SneakPeek test?
You can take the SneakPeek Early Gender Test as early as 6 weeks into pregnancy. The test is designed to detect fetal DNA in the pregnant parent’s bloodstream, which becomes measurable around this time. Does the SneakPeek Early Gender Test work for twins?
Yes, the SneakPeek test works for both identical and fraternal twins. If you’re expecting identical twins and male DNA is detected, both babies are boys. If no male DNA is found, both are girls. For fraternal twins, finding male DNA means at least one baby is a boy, but the test cannot determine the sex of each baby individually.
